On the 27.04.17 Girard-Perregaux and Les Ambassadeurs boutique in Zurich held a joint press conference with the CEO of Girard-Perregaux(Antonio Calce) and the CEO of Les Ambassadeurs (Joachim Ziegler).
Every month an exhibition takes place at Les Ambassadeurs, where they present different type of exclusive watch brands and it’s history. The current exhibition is about the history of the Laureato and it ends on the 29.04.17.

The watch collectors and fans have been waiting for the return of the iconic timepiece. In 2017 the entire series is being presented as part of the collection of Girard-Perregaux. This year the Laureato seires is very multifaceted, because it comes in four sizes, four movement variations and four various materials. Girard-Perregaux had a big success at the beginning of the year and the collection continous to expand with new complications and of course new perspectives.
At the press conference we learned more about the watch manufactures history and we could visit the exhibition and gain an exclusive view of the latest arrival that made a worldwide appearance on the 5.05.17. The latest piece of the Laureato family offers a new design and a fascinating movement architecture. The wristband of the watch is metal and is based on the origins of the Laureato.
During the presentation Antonio Calce said the following : “I’m very pleased to officially present the Laureato Collection here in Zurich, share its story by means of the exclusive exhibition, and provide you with a preview of this exquisite new Laureato model."

Wearing the Laureato Skeleton watch

The interior and exterior are defined by solid, voids lines as wells as curves. These factors are mostly concernes of an architect and it undeniably defines the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Skeleton. As mentioned before the bracelet is in metal and the watch contains a skeleton movement. This watch model was inspired by the origins oft he Laureato and upon ist expertise.

History of Laureato:
The Laureato was desgined by a Milan based architect in the 1970’s and even then it was a true watchmaking icon. The spirit of this creation remains the same and it is embodied in the latest Laureato generation that Girard Perregaux launched in 2016 and it has its revival in 2017. The bracelet is composed of links with an alternating matt and satin-brushed surfaces. .
The biggest concentration is within the few cubic centimeters of the Laureato Skeleton, which everyone should experience up close.
This watch model has an exterior and interior like the Guggenheim Museum in New York by Frank Lloyd Wright, so that it is in a constant dialogue.
The skeletonised fine watchmaking movement is a Calibre GP01800-0006, forming a veritable mechanical lace motifs.
The envelope is a rigorously designed 42 mm-diameter, 10.88 mm-thick case, available in stainless steel or 18K pink gold, matching the bracelet.
The beating heart of the Laureato Skeleton watch is a living creation. For the first time in a GP 1800 movement the excellent precision of this model is reinforced.
