BEAU-RIVAGE: GENEVA'S TREASURE

A hotel with a rich past

By entering the elegant lobby with its water fountain and the marble columns you will feel in an instant the warm welcoming and marvelous atmosphere - a blend of cosmopolitan lifestyle and intimate surroundings.

At the hotel there’s always a host waiting at arrival for the guests, which shows the Mayer (owner of the Beau-Rivage hotel in Geneva) family’s importance for treating their guests like friends. The Beau-Rivage is the perfect choice for people who want no compromises in life and to experience an unparalleled classy lifestyle. This hotel is also known for the involvement in a variety of events, from gourmet to cooking to oenology classes and exhibitions, partnering up with Geneva’s Contemporary Art Centre, charity events and fascinating encounters. The Beau-Rivage hotel offers unique artifacts from the past as well as smart home devices, which shows that it reinvents itself with every generation.

Empress Elisabeth of Austria, along with numerous other crowned leaders, heads of state and individuals of international notoriety were important guests at Beau-Rivage. The Mayer family collected and restored for more than 150 years extraordinary furniture pieces. The walls are shield with the most exclusive fabrics, while the private spaces, for example the Salon Masaryk, are full covered in rare lemon tree woodwork and authentic stained glass windows. Over the years (and with innovation) the Beau-Rivage has still remained the historic treasure of Geneva. In 1873 it was the first hotel in Switzerland with an elevator.

When it comes to interior design the Beau-Rivage works only with the most renowned personalities like the two internationally acclaimed designer and architects Pierre-Yves Rochon and Leila Corbett Elwes. Each room has its own individual character, every angle was decorated and designed with attention to detail to create a refined elegance and aristocratic feel. Beau- Rivage does not offer a SPA, but even better they installed in each room a steam bath.

Most of the suites like the historic suite of Empress “Sissi” and the suite “Maharajah of Patiala” as well as the Executive Deluxe rooms were fully renovated. They also created several lofts (and duplex penthouses) on the fifth floor, which are a re-interpretation of the new luxury. This is one of many innovative and interesting projects that resulted through synergies of two generations, of Jacques Mayer and Alexandre Nickbarte-Mayer, working together. At Beau Rivage each step is a discovery. For more information visit: http://www.beau-rivage.ch/en/
